Iris Richardson Moore, age 93 of Mason, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 11 in Concho Health and Rehab in Eden, Texas.

Iris was the 7th of 8 children. She was born on May 7, 1923 to Hiram and Ada Richardson. She was married to J. C. Moore for 47 years. He passed away in 1993. Iris worked as a beautician for 33 years, with a number of those years being in Mason. She also taught Sunday School at First Baptist for several years and was a devoted member of Eastern Star. Most of her life was spent in central West Texas. Iris loved to sew and work with her plants and flowers. She was mostly known for the beautiful hats she wore.

Iris is survived by her son, Stephen Jay Moore and wife Debra of San Angelo, a loving granddaughter, Lynn and husband Gordon Carroll and great-grandson Coen all of Stephenville She is also survived by a brother, Gay Richardson and wife Betty of Boerne, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at 10:30 in Gooch Cemetery.
