Ida Ann Bratton Sellman was born to Charles Garrett and Laura Frances Bratton on December 18, 1938, at the Bratton Homeplace in Fredonia, Texas.  She passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the age of 85.

On December 23, 1957, she married Richard (Dickie) Sellman.  They raised their three children in Cherokee, Texas.

Ida is survived by her children Dee and Lee Henrich, Sabrina Roberts and companion John Gordon and Chuck and Rhonda Sellman, six grandchildren: Jared and Jayme Henrich, Jayton Henrich and fiancé Haley Reams, Brandon and Monica Roberts, Austin Roberts, Justin Roberts and fiancé Breanna Fricke, Kendyl Sellman and companion, C.R. Odom and Kylie Sellman along with nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.  She is also survived by her cherished Bratton cousins.  Ida was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister and brother-in-law Charlene and Elroy Schuessler.

Serving as pallbearers are her beloved grandchildren Jared and Jayton Henrich, Brandon and Justin Roberts and Kendyl and Kylie Sellman.  Honorary pallbearers or her "other boys" Paul Henry, Al, Andy, Robbie and Les Broyles, L.T. and Hal B. Faris, Tim Jordan, Braiden Hagel, John Schuerer and beloved grandson Austin Roberts.

Graveside services will be held at the Rochelle Cemetery, Sunday, September 8, at 1 p.m.  Fellowship and Visitation will follow at the Voca School House in Voca, Texas after the service.

Great storyteller of the Bratton clan, a daughter who idolized her Daddy, a lover of rural living, a tender heart for children, generous hostess, loving Mom to 3 but mother to many, Nana, Aunt cousin, in-law, daughter and friend.  Homemade rolls, sweet tea, chocolate sheet cake, frozen strawberry delight, antique dishes, no plastic eating utensils ever, hugs, laughter, tears, slow Texas drawl, blue eyes that could sparkle and laugh, left-hander, Mason Puncher, Cherokee Indian, Voca, Brady, Stephenville, Fredericksburg, New Braunfels, Lawton, the panhandle, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, OLD YELLER, SAVAGE SAM, Fraulein, Comal County Blue, homemaker, waitress, school bus driver, school aide, day care provider, bare feet, warm hugs, soft skin. Thank you for the memories, Aunt Ida Ann.  A big part of my life as a child and teen. Your babies were like my younger siblings. I miss your family history sharing.
