Gwen Calhoun, of Austin, passed away on Friday, April 28 at her daughter's home near Big Spring. Gwen is survived by a son Lee B. "Monty" Montgomery III of Forsan, a daughter Misty Gartman and husband Dean of Big Spring and four grandsons Brady Gartman of Colorado Springs, Bryce Gartman, Brant Gartman and Brenner Gartman all of Big Spring.

Gwen was born April 20, 1938 in Big Spring to Brady Nix and Lettye Lee Barham Nix. At the time, both of her parents were teachers at Forsan. For much of her life Gwen lived in Westlake and Austin where she was an administrative assistant in the legal field.

Interment of her cremated remains will take place on Wednesday, May 31, at 1:30 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in Mason, Texas on Saturday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
