Gerald Lane Gibson, of Mason, passed away on Friday, December 2, at the age of 72. He was born on September 18, 1950, in Summerville, Georgia, the son of Jess Allison and Wilma Meeler.
Gerald is survived by his wife Brenda Gibson, of Mason, his children: Chris Gibson and wife Kara of Fredericksburg, Eddie McBee and wife Jeanette of Ellendale, North Dakota, Kimberly Durham and husband Robert of Mason, Christy Brownfield of Big Spring, Victoria Golleher of Big Spring and Elizabeth Stovall and husband Adam of Whitehouse, a brother Bob Allison of Georgia , grandchildren: Taylor and Baylor Gibson, Rylee, Kyleigh and Kadynce Bradley, Hannah Horton, Alexis Brown, Austin Miller, Shalla and Alice McBee, Brandon Stowers, Sandi, Jason Jr. and Jayden Golleher, Ashley and Cheyenne Gibson, Dylan Register, Garrett Brownfield and numerous great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, a son Gerald Lane Gibson, Jr., a sister Glenda Stevens and a grandson John Stowers.
Gerald came to Mason where he met Brenda. They were married February 27, 1981. He loved all of his family..his wife, his kids, his grandkids, great grandkids and his dogs more than anything. He had a heart of gold. Gerald never met a stranger he welcomed and loved everyone. Gerald spent most of his life as an Electrician. He could fix anything, he was a "Jack of All Trades". He was a Historian, he loved history. He enjoyed the chance to help others, family friends, community benefits. Gerald loved to hunt and fish any chance he got.
Gerald will always be remembered as a Man with a good story to tell. The excitement in his voice and his facial expressions while telling those stories would light up an entire room. Making everyone smile and laugh.
A memorial service, celebrating Gerald's life will be held on Saturday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help with the funeral expense.
