Gary Wayne Comer, aged 80 of Mason, Texas, passed away July 27, 2026. He was born to Alvin and LaRue Comer on March 8, 1946, in Brady, Texas. He married Joyce Lynn Kuhlmann June 17, 1967, in Mason, Texas and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. Gary served his country in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the Texas Highway Department after 36 years of service. In his free time Gary enjoyed being outdoors and hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and LaRue Comer, his father and mother-in-law Eddie and Eloise Kuhlmann, his wife Joyce Lynn Comer.  He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Seth Loyd and Brenda Comer, two nieces Donna Tally and Shelia Thomas (Craig), three great nieces Mishay Anthony (Cody), McKay Reeve (Sheldon) and Presley Tally, three great nephews Blaine and Bryce Thomas and Pecos Tally, one great-great nephew Ryle Anthony and two great-great nieces Reata Anthony and Quinn Reeve. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gooch Cemetery
