Frances Haler Priess

Frances Haler Priess, 86, long time resident of Mason, Texas went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 2.

Frances Lee Haler was born on December 23, 1926, in Mason to George and Grace Ledbetter Haler. She was baptized in the German Methodist Church in Mason and was confirmed on April 6, 1944, in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Frances graduated from Mason high school, May 1944, and was married to Perry Priess on December 25, 1943, in St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor M.J. Schwartz.

Frances was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and participated in the women's organizations. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She also enjoyed having a garden and canning the home grown vegetables. Flower gardening was one of her loves. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts: quilting, embroidering, and crocheting. In later years, she discovered she had a gift for drawing and painting. Family members and friends are fortunate to have many of her works displayed in their homes. Frances loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Priess on January 7, 1990. Her parents, a baby brother, and a baby sister also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son Danny Priess and wife Doris, of Sunrise Beach, Texas; two daughters: Kay Parrott of Coleman, Texas; and Brenda Miller and husband John of Kerrville, Texas; six grandchildren: Kelly Priess and wife Stephanie of Georgetown, Texas; Kym Priess of Los Angeles, California; Cody Parrott and wife Julie of Hawley, Texas; Trent Parrott and wife Anjolyn of Flower Mound, Texas; Natalie Miller Wiggins and husband Steve of New Braunfels, Texas; and Kristen Miller Smith and husband Robert of Roanoke, Virginia. She is survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Lane, Garyn, Trey, Karrigan, and Jackson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Parrott, Trent Parrott, Kelly Priess, David Herklotz, Tim Herklotz, and Eddie Wayne Priess.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery.

Memorials in her honor may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Camp Chrysalis or the charity of one's choice.
