Etta Marie Mutschink passed away on February 6, 2015 in Llano, Texas at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Visitation will be at the Mason Funeral Home on Monday, February 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Art United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m., and burial will follow at Art West Cemetery.
Etta Marie was born June 26, 1926 in Art, Texas to August A. and Clara (Leifeste) Willmann. She attended the Art School, and graduated from Mason High School in 1943. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown and graduated with a B.A. in German in 1947. At Southwestern, Etta was in the Girls Chorus, Mask and Wig Society, and the Basileis Society. On September 2, 1947, she married Alfred O. Mutschink of Giddings, Texas in the Art Methodist Church. Their first home was in Loyal Valley where Alfred taught agriculture to World War II veterans. Etta was a devoted mother and homemaker, and worked in various jobs that included the Commercial Bank, Mason National Bank, Mason Auction, Mason Feeders, and the county agent's office. She was a lifelong member of the Art Methodist Church, serving as a pianist and member of the United Methodist Women. She always enjoyed working in her yard, traveling, playing bridge, and playing tennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred, her brother, William "Bill" Willmann and his wife Jo Ann, and brother-in-law Berger Todd. She is survived by her sister Mildred Todd of La Grange, Texas, her son Stephen Mutschink and wife Joyce of Mason, Texas, and her daughter Karen Toone and husband Steve of Mason. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: John Mutschink and wife Kelley of The Woodlands, Texas, Mark Mutschink and wife Sharon of Dallas, Texas, Leslie Cope and husband Michael of Mason, Melissa Toone Kothmann of Fredericksburg, Megan Toone of Austin, and Logan Toone of Mason; and 4 great grandchildren: Alexandra and Eliza Cope of Mason, and Kambree and Kanyon Kothmann of Fredericksburg; and her niece Sarah Stahl and husband Ken of Mason.
