Ernesto Marin Gonzalez passed with peace and grace early on September 8, 2018, with his wife Rosa by his side. Predeceased by his first wife Maria Soledad Ojeda Gonzalez, a son Ernesto Gonzales Jr. and brothers Jesus, Bernardo and Ruben Gonzalez Marin. Ernesto is survived by his daughter Maribel Dominguez and husband Joe of Bishop, TX, daughter-in-law Velma Gonzales of San Antonio, TX, sisters Teresa Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Martha Gonzalez and Elena Gonzalez all of Mexico City, Mexico along with the bonus Berreles Bunch: Hector and Sara Berreles of Carlsbad, NM, Tony and Rosa Berreles-Acosta of Plano, TX, Minerva and David Berreles-Luna of Buda, TX, Marco and Dora Berreles of Mason, TX, Fernando Berreles of Mason, TX and Ludi and Johnny Berreles Castillo of Round Rock, TX and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ernesto was born on May 5, 1939 in Durango Mexico to parents Jesus and Agripina Marin Gonzalez. He came to Texas at the age of 16 and worked for his good friends C.H., Caroline; Ted and Terry Smith for 27 years. He then worked with his friends Tommy and Joyce Durst for 33 years.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, with the Rosary recited at 11:00 at Mason Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private interment will take place at a later date
The family wishes to thank Hospice of San Angelo for their care. A most heartfelt thank you to his nurse Luis and his attendant Clemente for treating him with respect and dignity.
Finally to Tommy and Joyce Durst and his "brother" Ted Smith, thank you for your many visits, love and support in the last months of his life. Ernesto loved you all very much.
In lieu of flowers Ernesto requested donations be made to Ole' Yellow Animal Rescue to assist the animals that he so loved.
