Ernestina Galaviz, 88 years of age passed from this life in Mason, TX on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born in Uvalde TX, on April 23, 1925. She was the daughter of Eusebio and Elvira. Ernestina known to most as "Big Nana" was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason. She enjoyed the Spanish prayer group where she made lots of friends that she loved deeply. Big Nana had many hobbies praying, working on her flower beds, and reading and could finish a puzzle book a couple of days. She was also the Spurs biggest fan, and unfortunately she didn't get to take the championship trophy with her to heaven. She proceeded in death by her Mother, Father, and Brother.

Big Nana is survived by her daughter Rosa and husband Lauro from San Antonio, TX. Her son Jorge and wife Isabel from Mason, TX. and son Juan Martin and wife Nora from Allende, Mexico. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren Lauro, Fernando, Maricela, Alex, Mayra, Pedro Luis, Erica, Ivan, Judith, Rocio, and Reginia, and 17 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Eufemia, nieces/nephews; Estela, Irma, Lisa, Margarita, Francisca, Norma, Martin and Jose.

Visitation with the family will be on the evening of Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5-7pm. followed by Rosary at Mason Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. With father Melvin Dornak.
