Ernest Morquecho, of Mason, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at home. Ernest was born on October 9, 1949 in Mason, TX to Estevan and Ramona towns Morquecho.
Ernest married Rosa Martinez on July 9, 1983, in Mason. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked with Morquecho Construction for over 20 years. He had a love for furry friends, especially for his German Shepherd, Mister. His hobbies were going hunting with his brothers and fishing. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and western movies.
Ernest is survived by his wife Rosa Morquecho, of Mason, a son Adrian Medrano, two daughters Erica and Elisha Morquecho and four siblings and their spouses: Adolph Morquecho of Memphis, Texas, Carolina Menchaca, Beverly Morquecho and Mike and Carolina Morquecho all from Mason, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father Estevan and mother Ramona Morquecho, Ernest was preceded in death by five siblings: Chavela Menchaca, Delfina Martinez, Tony Morquecho, Johnny Morquecho and Joe Morquecho.
The family would like to thank the staff at the V.A. hospitals in Kerrville and San Antonio for the wonderful care given to Ernest.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 at Mason Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 19, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are: Brayden Medrano, Kaiden Mendrano, Joe Martinez, Timothy Pena, Andrew Morquecho, Mark Morquecho and Aaron Morquecho. Honorary pallbearers are: Adrian Medrano, Lakyn Medrano, Hayden Medrano, and Erica and Alisha Morquecho.
