Emmit Schmidt Sr., of Mason, passed away on Thursday, October 25, at the age of 88. Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife Georgie Schmidt of Mason, a daughter Deborah Keiter of Lubbock, a son Emmit "Butch" Schmidt Jr. of Seguin 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
