Emmajo Elizabeth Jordan Wallace, age 92, passed away March 24, 2022, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Born March 28, 1929, at her Aunt Ella's house in Mason, Texas to Pete and Foncine Jordan.

Jody, as she was often called, was on the Cradle Roll at First Methodist Church in Mason and later became a member. She attended kindergarten and public school in Mason, where she graduated from Mason High School in 1946. She graduated from Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband. They had two daughters, Cathy Higginbotham of Tomball, Tx., and Nancy Hurta of Mason. Cathy's family are Jennifer (Terry) Frank and sons Tyler and Mason, Chris (Sadie) Higginbotham and children Malakai and Kailee Duncan, Carrie (Tim) Purvis and daughters Emma and Libby, and Jeremy (Rachel) Higginbotham and sons Jack, Adam, and Luke. Nancy's sons are John (Katelyn) and son Henry, and Mark.

She taught pre-school, first and second grades, and junior high school. She returned to school and got her master's degree from Texas A & M University. She became an Educational Diagnostician and worked for Harris County, Spring School District and Spring Branch School District. After 21 years she retired and moved back to Mason.

Jody loved to travel. In her later years, she took numerous cruises with her daughter Nancy and grandson Mark. They went to England, Scandinavian Countries, Russia, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, New England, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, South America, Panama Canal, the West Coast, and Alaska.

She loved her family dearly. Being an only child, she was close to her many cousins. Her last years were spent in Mason, where she loved reconnecting with family and friends and meeting new ones. She faithfully attended the First United Methodist Church, was a member of Riata, the Republican Women, and was a docent at the Mason Square Museum where she often worked with her good friend Joan Whitaker.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her life may send memorials to Friends of the Courthouse Project, or to an organization of your choice.

A memorial service for Jody will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.  Visitation with the family will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Methodist Church
