On March 8, 2010, our husband, father and grandfather, Edwin Ince, went to be with our Lord.

Edwin Clinton Ince was born to Edgar and Lola Ince on May 29, 1937. He was raised in Mason and graduated from Mason High School in 1954.

After high school graduation, he and his high school sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth Eppler left Mason to attend college at Southwest Texas State University. In December of 1957, the two were married and raised three children: Regina Elizabeth Hibler, Kathrine Ellen Ince, and David Clinton Ince. Mary Beth preceded Edwin in death in December 2004.

Edwin was a life long farmer and rancher. For many years, he farmed peanuts and other various crops in Mason County. At one time, he was one of Mason County's largest producers. Edwin was also involved in ranching. He served as the president of the American Maine Anjou Association in the mid-1980s. He was an avid hunter and excellent 42 player. He also served as a director for the Mason Chamber of Commerce.

The greatest joys in Edwin's life were his grandchildren. They are Hailey-Ann Hibler, Emily Ellebracht, Will Ince and Walker Ince.

In 2005, Edwin was blessed in finding a special partner in Gayle Keith. They were married on March 10, 2006 at Alamo Village in Brackettville and shared nearly four happy years together.

Through the years, Edwin and his family have maintained wonderful friendships. Some of his most cherished memories were with the different "groups" he and his family were a part of. He dearly loved the James River Cowboys, the Fourth of July Group, the Friday Lunch Group, the New Year's Eve Group, the Birthday Group, the Jaycees and the many other special friendships he had through the years.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Gayle Ince. He is also survived by his daughter Ellen Ince and son Dave Ince and wife Rene Ince, son-in-law, Wade Hibler and four grandchildren.

He is also survived by Gayle's daughters, Cindy Keith, Lisa Edmiston and husband Gene and Christy Ake and her husband Chris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Beth Ince and his daughter Regina Elizabeth Hibler.

Pallbearers are Kelly Kothmann, Dutch Wardlaw, Lex Kothmann, Dean Martin, Jeff Schmidt and Kurt Eppler.

Honorary pallbearers are The James River Cowboys. They are Gene Zesch, Max Hey, Wayne Keller, Charles Pluenneke, Harvey Zesch, Carl Martin and Jimmy Jordan.

Visitation with the family will be at the Mason Funeral Home on March 10th from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on March 11th at the First Baptist Church of Mason at 1p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
