Eduardo Castillo, of Mason, passed away on Friday, January 2, at the age of 46. Mr. Castillo is survived by his parents Crescencia Castillo of Mason and Pedro G. Castillo Sr. of Midland, 2 daughters Cassandra Castillo and Vanessa Castillo both of Austin, brothers and sister Rafael Castillo and wife Imelda of Mason, Bertha Castillo of Mason, Pedro Castillo Jr. and wife Patricia of Fort Worth, Eddie Castillo of San Angelo and Jesus Esquivel of Snyder a grandson Bryson Rey Rodriguez, nieces and nephews; Miranda Castillo of San Angelo, Roddy Castillo of San Angelo, Abraham Jr. and Christopher Soto of Mason, Michael Soto of Fort Worth, Ashley Garcia of Mason, Marcos, Michael and Joanna of Plano, Gustavo and Rogelio Castillo of Plano, Vanessa and Clarissa Castillo of San Antonio and Vanessa Castillo of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his brother Candelario Castillo and a niece Laura P. Castillo.

Eduardo M. Castillo was born on October 6, 1968 in Acuna, Coah., Mexico to Crescencia Martinez Castillo and Pedro Castillo. He came to Mason when he was 10 years old. He attended Mason I.S.D. Eduardo lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and he loved to work. He worked for Jenco Fabricators, RDI, Feed Lot and he also did ranch work. He loved to dance and listen to music. His favorite way to pass time was building a fire with his brothers, sister and family, drinking and smoking and having a good time. He was always smiling and never in a bad mood. He made friends easily. Once you met him, you would be his friend by the end of the day.

He loved all his nephews and nieces and got to meet his first grandson. He said it was the best feeling in the world to be a grandpa. With tears in his eyes and a great big smile on his face he told his brother Ralph now he knew what being a grandpa felt like! Eduardo liked to BBQ and spend time with his family. He and the family had great times at his mom's house. He had a tender heart and he loved his family a lot!

Eduardo was a cowboy. He looked like a cowboy and loved to dress like a cowboy.

The Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 6, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason. Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery. His nephews A.J. Soto, Chris Soto, Michael Soto, Roddy Castillo, Eddie Castillo and Marco Berreles will serve as pallbearers.
