Edgar Lange Edmiston, Jr., of Katemcy, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the age of 75. He is survived by his sons: Robin Edmiston and wife Gayle of Denver, CO and Glenn Edmiston of Houston; his parents: Edgar L. Edmiston, Sr. and Marie Edmiston of Katemcy; his brother: William Edmiston and wife Tylene of Georgetown, TX and his sister: Marilynn Hood and husband David of College Station along with three grandchildren: Dylan, Bailey and Kendra Edmiston. Skip is also survived by his very dear friend Ella Sue Holloway of Brady. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Edmiston on September 15, 1983.

Skip was born on November 7, 1933 in Brady. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Skip graduated from Texas A & M, received his master's degree from Sam Houston State and was just a few hours short of his PHD. He worked for over 30 years with the Houston Independent School District as a teacher, an ROTC instructor and as an administrator. He served his country in the U. S. Army. After retiring, Skip moved back to Katemcy where he helped his mom and dad with the family ranch. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and just watching the deer and turkeys. Skip was a member of the Texas A & M Association of Former Students, the Masonic Lodge and the NRA. His great love, however, was for the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Mason Church of Christ and rarely missed a service along with donating his time and talents to helping the Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Edmiston will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mason Church of Christ building. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
