On a bright fall day, October 21, our husband, Daddy, and "Dee-Dee" went home to be with his Lord.

Earl Poston was born on August 20, 1932 in Collin County, Texas to John and Lillie Poston, on a farm near the community of Culleoka. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

Earl married Sherley Kissinger in McKinney, Texas on September 20, 1958 and they enjoyed 55 years loving and working together. Earl and Sherley were blessed with two daughters, Penni and Page. Two of Daddy's proudest moments were when both daughters received degrees from Angelo State University.

Earl was a very talented welder and steel craftsman. There were few things that he couldn't repair or improve with his welding skills. He had the great talent of being able to see a finished project. Examples of his craftsmanship can still be seen in the McKinney area and Hill Country.

Sherley and Earl enjoyed the years that they owned London Hall and the many friends that they made there. Earl and Sherley fell in love with the "Hill Country" and made the move there in 1975. He also loved the years that he ranched near London. He enjoyed being out on the land and checking on his cattle and goats.

"Dee-Dee" as he was known to his grandchildren, enjoyed being a part of all of their activities from T-ball to livestock shows.

Earl is survived by his loving wife Sherley, and his daughters Penni Wilde and husband David of Wall and Page Wright and husband David of Hamilton, grandson Peyton Wilde of Lubbock and granddaughters Sawyer and Kelton Wright of Hamilton along with his brother Everette and wife Imogene Poston of Weston, brother-in-law Tom Kissinger and wife Peggy of West, sister-in-law Judy Kissinger of Ivanhoe, and sister-in-law Linda Kissinger of Fairview.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel in Mason. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. The service will be led by Tom Kissinger and Earl's nephew Mark Kissinger of Celina. Pallbearers will include his grandson Peyton Wilde, nephews Jeff Kissinger and David Barker, Willie Carter, Brian Smith and Toby Gibbs.

The family wishes to thank the staff from Hill Country Health, Mason EMTs, Menard Manor and Hospice of San Angelo.
