Obituary

Doris Faye Watson Bode passed away in Junction on Sunday, April 24 at the age of 81. Mrs. Bode is survived by her children Robert Bode and wife Tanzee of Pontotoc Saran Hornsby and husband Jimmy of Junction and Donnie Ray Bode and wife Trish of Marble Falls, one brother Ealy Stanley Watson of Mason, a very special family member Vicki Enrique of Mason,11 grandchildren Robin Hooper (Nathan) of Junction, Jimmy Howard Hornsby (Cheryl) of San Antonio, Jason Ray Bode (Amber) of LaVernia, Shannon Lynn Leal (Cory) of Seguin, Rhonda Allison of Brownwood, Robert Ray Bode II of Marble Falls, Joseph Ealy Bode of Marble Falls, Jerry Chaney (Meaghan) of Jarrell, Tonya Brewer (John) of Alabama, Tabitha Chaney of Mason and Trinity Mata of Mason, 7 great-grandchildren Elyssa Bode, Jaden Hardesty, Kylie Burney, Landon Ray Bode, Bryce Richard Bode, Cavin Townson and Case Leal, and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

Doris was born on December 15, 1929 in Pontotoc to Ealy Watson and Ona Bush. She was raised in the Pontotoc area and attended school at the Hutchison School between Pontotoc and Field Creek. After finishing high school, she married Robert George Bode on April 26, 1947 in Llano. They were together for 50 years until his death in 1997.

Through the years Doris lived in many towns in west Texas as Robert followed work in the oil patch. Together they owned and operated a diesel and trucking business. After retiring, they moved back to Mason in 1983 where she attended the Mason Gospel Church. For the last few years Doris lived with her daughter in London and Junction. In her spare time she enjoyed playing "42" and dominoes and loved to talk with her friends on the phone.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bode will be held Wednesday, April 27, at 3:00 p. m. at Mason Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Pontotoc Cemetery. Visitation with the family is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Mason Funeral Home.
