Obituary

Doris Marie Varga went home to meet her Lord on July 18, 2017 in Brady, Texas. She was born on January 12, 1950 in Mason , Texas. Doris and Craig Varga were married at Bergstom Air Force Base Chapel in Austin, Texas on May 16, 1970. She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Mattie (Crouch) Cavness, brother Jessie Cavness, sister Ella Ruth Parker and sister Mildred Gardner.

She is survived by her husband Craig Varga of forty-seven years of marriage; her son Jonathan Varga and wife Shawna from Waco, Texas; her son Anthony Varga and wife Christy from San Diego, California; grandsons Shane, Tanner, Matthew and Benjamin ; her brother Ben Cavness, Jr. of Junction, Texas and her brother Dorman Cavness of Mason, Texas. Doris is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Doris graduated from Mason High School in 1968; worked in banking after relocating to Austin, Texas; continued work in banking after relocation to Anchorage, Alaska; and returned to Mason, Texas and retired from Mason Independent School District after twenty-five years of public service.

Doris was very involved with the Pontotoc Bible Study and was a devoted member of the Llano Cowboy Church. Doris was very involved in researching her Cavness family history. Doris' most enjoyable moments were spending time with her family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Varga, Anthony Varga, Shane Varga, Tanner Varga, Jeff Cavness and Jason Cavness. Serving as honary pallbearers will be Ponotoc Lady's Bible Class, Jody Webster, Matthew Varga, Benjamin Varga, and Larry Varga. Pastor Stacey Nobles of the Llano Cowboy Church will lead the service.
