October 21, 1937 - June 28, 2026

Dolores Louise Cruz, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 28, 2026, at the age of 88.

Dolores was born on October 21, 1937, to Peter Verrone and Assunda Mare in Livingston, N.J.

She is survived by her daughter Joanne Drake of California, sons Joseph Cruz of San Antonio, Jack Cruz and wife Robin of Tennessee, and Jeff Cruz and wife Marissa of Mason, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Dolores was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 50 years and mother to her four children. She will always be remembered for her spunky and sassy personality. Dolores loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a phenomenal cook and could set a holiday table that would leave Martha Stewart in awe. Dolores also enjoyed all sorts of crafts, crossword puzzles, watching Crime TV shows, and being Judge Judy’s biggest fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cruz, as well as her parents and siblings.
