Delores Rankin, of Harper, passed away on Saturday, January 17, at the age of 72. Survivors include her uncle J. W. "Jay" Taylor and wife Charlene, of Harper, long-time companion Jimmy Fralicks of Harper and cousins Sheba K. Kothmann and Billy K. Johnson both of Mason and Tim Taylor and Richard Taylor both of Kerrville, Tommy and Lewis Taylor both of Harper. Delores was preceded in death by her parents Lula Taylor Rankin and Thomas Rankin and her aunt Zula Taylor Johnson.

Until her health started failing, Delores was the happiest person. She could do beautiful embroidery; pillow cases, scarves and even a quilt top. She also knitted and crocheted. She enjoyed the outdoors and she and Jimmy would hunt and fish together. She was a very caring person and if she knew someone in the family was sick she was sure to ask about them and wish them better health.

Delores ran the operations for Cellular On Patrol (COP) in the Adams Hill neighborhood for 14 of the 17 years they lived in San Antonio. She also helped the association organize the National Night Out.

Delores was a Lifetime Member of the Texas Society, Order of Confederate Rose and a member of the Mary Harlow Griffith Chapter, order #16, Order of Confederate Rose in Junction, Texas. She was also a member of The Former Texas Rangers Association.

Visitation with the family will be Monday afternoon, January 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Gooch Cemetery with Pastor Dave Benefield leading the service.
