Dayton Benno Reichenau, of Mason, passed away on Friday, October 7, at the age of 88. He was born on March 29, 1928 in Mason, to Benno Reichenau and Lyudia Lang Reichenau. He was a life-long rancher and resident of Mason County. Dayton served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Rogers and they were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason. She preceded him in death in 2007.
Survivors include a daughter Marilyn Smith and husband Gregg, of Mason, a brother Marvin Reichenau and wife Peggy of Delores, Colorado, a grandchild Angel Rudolph and husband John of Weatherford and a great-grandchild Parker L. Rudolph. He is also survived by a niece and several nephews: Maryann Mattiliano, Bernard Giacobe, Greg Giacobe, Mark Reichenau, Marvin Reichenau Jr., Kenneth Moore and Dorman Wayne Moore. Mr. Reichenau was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters Vera Giacobe and Margaret Moore.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Dayton Reichenau will be held at a later date.
