Obituary

Daymond Brandenberger, of Mason, passed away on Thursday, January 30, at the age of 77. He was born in Brady on March 19, 1942 to Howard and Dessie (Kothmann) Brandenberger. He was a life-long rancher in Mason County.

On January 21, 1967, Daymond married Betty Ersch in Fredericksburg. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Debra and Denise. Daymond was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher.Daymond was a founding member of the Mason Jaycee's and the Hext Fire Department. He was also a member of the 42 Club and the Grit Community Club. Daymond also attended the Texas A & M Fire School and raised and trained Border Collie dogs for ranching and competition.

Daymond is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Ersch) Brandenberger, their daughters Debra Davenport and husband Roy of Mason, Denise Brandenberger of Mason and a brother Raymond Brandenberger and wife Patsy of Mason. He is also survived by three grandchildren Zackery Hoag (Tracey) of Wall, Jessica Juarez (Jose) of Abilene, Nathan Hoag (Ashley) of Mason and 4 great grandchildren: Mitchell Hoag, Bella Pacheco, Emma Juarez and Harper Payne along with two nieces, Kim Zuberbueler (Robert) and Tonya Fulgham (Sandy). Daymond was preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Lucy Kothmann and Ben and Emma Brandenberger, his parents and a sister Beverly Jean Brandenberger-Smith.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic church or to the Hext Fire Department.
