Obituary

David Martinez, 63, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday December 12th, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 13th, 1959, the son of Gregorio and Julia Martinez.

David received his GED from Mason High School. He was on the football team as a running back and on the line. He was a hard worker, working on ranches doing just about everything before an accident ended his working career. On November 14th he celebrated 43 years of marriage with Maria living in Mason their entire lives. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and sporting events. His greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was quite the baker making treats for family and friends. He will be remembered as outgoing and friendly to all and willing to help others.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Armando and Adolf, as well as his sister, MaryJane. He is survived by his wife, Maria; his daughter Diana Martinez; his son Michael and daughter-in-law, Rachel Martinez; as well as his grandchildren; Isabella, Tyler and Nathan Martinez; many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the nurses at the Brownwood Dialysis Center and the Home Health nurses: Elisa, Pam and Mariah

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Crosby Cemetery.
