Darryl Driscol Draper passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Fredericksburg, TX at the age of 90 years.

Driscol was born on the ranch in Mason County on September 20, 1933, to Baze and Enelma Carson Draper. He attended Mason High School and went on to graduate from Abilene Christian College in 1954 with an agricultural degree in Animal Husbandry.

He served in the Army at Fort Ord, California. He worked many years as an electrician in and around Mason and surrounding counties.  He was a lifelong rancher.

His parents and brother, Roddie Paul Draper preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Martha Currey Draper, two sons, Benjamin Alvin Draper and wife, Georgia of Arlington, TX and Joel Lee Draper, of Mason survive their father along with six grandchildren: James Draper, Julie Draper Sandoval, Joe Don Draper, Darci Draper Hamilton, Dakota Draper and Jaci Draper Schnupp and eleven great grandchildren. Driscol is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jack Currey of Abilene and Sister-in-law, Mary Kay Draper of Mason.  His Nephews are Billy Keith Currey of Abilene and BarryJoe Currey of Lubbock, TX and one niece, Kaylyn Geistweidt of Fredericksburg.

The family wishes to thank Mason Home Health for the care extended to Driscol during his last days.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Mason Church of Christ with interment to follow at the Gooch Cemetery.
