Crescencia Castillo, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, at the age of 71. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 and continue on Thursday, March 12 from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 in the Mason Funeral Chapel. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Crosby Cemetery.

Survivors include 5 children Rafael Castillo and wife Imelda of Mason, Bertha Castillo of Mason, Pedro Castillo Jr. and wife Patricia of Ft. Worth, Eddie Castillo and wife Elisa of San Angelo and Jesus Esquivel of Snyder, a brother Antonio Martinez and wife Oralia of Del Rio, a sister Virginia Martinez of Del Rio, grandchildren: Miranda Castillo of San Angelo, Roddy Castillo of San Angelo, Abraham Jr. and Christopher Soto of Mason, Michael Soto of Fort Worth, Marcos, Michael and Joanna of Plano, Gustavo and Rogelio Castillo of Plano, Vanessa and Clarissa Castillo of San Antonio, Vanessa Castillo of New Mexico, Cassandra and Cathleen Castillo of San Antonio and great-grandchildren Bryson Rey Rodriguez, Kinsler Castillo and Emily, Rio and Isabella. She was preceded in death by two sons Candelario Castillo and Eduardo Castillo and a granddaughter Laura P. Castillo.

Crescencia was born on May 14, 1943 in Acuna, Coah., Mexico to Bartolo Martinez and Concepcion Perales Martinez. She was raised in Mexico and came to the United States in 1978 when she moved to Mason. Mason was her home for the rest of her life. She was a hard-working woman who had a deep love for her family. She was the glue that held her family together. She and her son Eduardo shared a home until his tragic death earlier this year.
