Carolyn Airheart, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, at the age of 76. Mrs. Airheart is survived by a son Tim Airheart and wife Charla, of Early, a daughter Mary Gail Estes of Mason, 2 brothers Johnnie Bailey and wife Mae of Mason, Richard Bailey and wife Norma of Junction, a sister Angela Awtrey of Junction, 8 grandchildren: Amber Tupin, Kayla Estes, Mary Bernice Estes, Rita Dickson, Heather Marriott, Keagan Gilmore, Krysta Airheart, Kayleith Airheart and 13 great-grandchildren: Shalla, Michael, Kyle, Carissa, Rylee, Malachi, Cody, Rustin, Liam, Peyton, Ella, Olevia and Madeline.  She was preceded in death by her husband and a great-grandchild Christopher Krenek.

Carolyn was born in Menard, Texas, on May 24, 1944 to John Bailey and Mary Smith Bailey. She was raised in Menard, Evant and Mason where her father worked on ranches. Carolyn married Gordon Gail Airheart on May 23, 1958. They made their home in Mason. For 20 years Carolyn worked for Mason ISD as a secretary at the bus barn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mason. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and antique hunting. Most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. The funeral service will be held graveside at the Gooch Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
