Carol Bradley, of Mason and formerly of Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 26, at the age of 60. Carol is survived by her husband Lee Bradley of Mason, son Joseph Barton Bradley of Dallas, daughter Bethany Leigh Bradley of Mason, a sister Linda Yates Brock of Quincy, Florida, three nieces Carole Chandler and husband Shelly of Bonifay, Florida and Elizabeth and Carly Reiley of Cost. She is also survived by two great-nieces Brittney Chandler Kristijanto, Sarah Chandler a great-nephew David Chandler and a sister-in-law Julie Reiley of Cost. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers Luther L. and Earl W. Yates.
Carol was born in Orlando, Florida on August 2, 1950 to Luther Yates and Clois Lewis Yates and was a 1968 graduate of Colonial High School in Orlando. On January 1st, 1971 she married Lee Bradley in Austin. Carol graduated from The University of Texas in 1977 with a B.S. in nursing. She worked for several years in Austin as a Registered Nurse in the labor and delivery area and also in the public health field. She then joined her husband in the family business, ABC Baby Furniture and Clothing where they worked together for several years before retiring.
Carol had a great love for children, the outdoors and her pet animals. Their kids and Lee were the center of her life and revolving around that was her zest for life. She loved the outdoors, riding horses and spending time with her many "pets" including their dogs, chickens and goats. In quiet times she loved to read and just sit outside enjoying life in the country.
Funeral services for Carol Bradley will be held on Wednesday, September 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Felty, Duval Jarl, Dan Kuss, Travis Ripple, Anthony Daywood, and Gary Glass.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the South Texas Children's Home Ministries or to the Mason County Cancer Fund.
