Carlita Luckenbach Jordan went to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family whom she nurtured and cherished for 82 years. Carlita was born on June 17, 1927 to Benjamin Arthur Luckenbach and Myrtle Rogers Luckenbach in Menard, Texas, the fifth of six children.

She grew up in Menard and attended Menard schools. Carlita married the love of her life, Sterling Jordan on October 20, 1946. They made their home in the Art community and became active members of the Art United Methodist Church, where they worshipped until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan Luckenbach Eckert, and grandson Adam Ray Jordan. She is survived by her husband Sterling Jordan of Art, daughter and son-in-law Gail and Nolan Sholar of Joaquin, Texas, son and daughter-in-law Max and Jan Jordan of Art, and son and daughter-in-law John and Susie Jordan of Art. She is also survived by her dear grandchildren, Alina Sholar and husband Buddy Pastrano of Evansville, Indiana, Greg and Breanne Sholar of Spring, Lee Jordan of Llano and fiancée Amy Drapela of Austin, Emily Jordan Rhodes and husband Chris of Abilene, Stuart Jordan and wife Julia of Montgomery, Alabama, Caroline Jordan of Art, two great-grandsons, Tyler Sholar of Winnie and Cameron Sholar of Spring. Surviving siblings are Pauline Hadley of Paint Rock, Doris Ogden of Abilene, Roger and Tommy Lou Luckenbach of Fredonia, Helen Donop and her husband Nolan of Mason, sister-in-law Dorothy Lowe of Kerens, numerous nieces and nephews, and long-time family friends Emilio Mutis and daughter Maria Mutis of Odessa.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 to 7:30p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the Art United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Krause officiating. Interment will follow in the Art West Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Shultz Hadley, Dickie Hadley, Richard Ogden, Gary Donop, David Eckert, Duane Lowe and Darrell Lowe. Honorary pallbearers were Nolan Donop, the Art Men's Choir, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
