Burt Wayne Coldiron

On July 5, 2025, Burt passed from this life to the next, following a long, brave fight against cancer. Burt was born in 1961 in Cuero, Texas, to Charles "Chuck" and Sally Coldiron. His older siblings, Gail and Brent, welcomed him into the world and the family was complete when Janet was born in 1963.

Chuck's job in the Texas Oil industry moved the family to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1968 and Burt graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1979. During his youth, Burt played tennis and youth football. Chuck introduced Brent and Burt to hunting and fishing at an early age and Burt kept that love of the outdoors throughout his life. He spent many weeks during the summers at the family fishing camp on the Nueces River. Once he pulled up an alligator gar longer than his little john boat and he almost fell out of the boat, trying to cut the fishing line and hook that had captured the gar.

In 1994, Burt fulfilled a life-long dream by moving to Denver, Colorado, eventually buying a home in the mountains near Bailey. He loved the Colorado mountains, spending his time working, hunting elk and just enjoying the outdoors. Burt worked at the Conoco/Phillips Refinery (later Suncor) for 20 years before fulfilling another life-long dream by moving to Mason and the Texas Hill Country in 2014, making his home on a beautiful property near Streeter.

Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Sally Coldiron. He is survived by his longtime friend, Amy Connell; his sisters, Gail and Janet; his brother, Brent and his sister-in-law, Tracie. He is also survived by his nephew, Nick Coldiron and his wife, Jen; his nephew, Sam Coldiron and his wife, Michelle and his niece, Shelby Coldiron and her husband, Chris Voss.  Additionally, Burt is survived by five great-nephews and four great-nieces, who all enjoyed coming to Mason to visit Uncle Burt.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 at Mason Funeral Home.
