A.F. "Boog" Holloway passed away on Thursday, March 5, at the age of 84. "Boog" was born on September 27, 1930 near Pontotoc in Mason County to Noah Curtis Holloway and Verna Brady Holloway. Mason County would be his home all of his life. In 1948 he fell in love married Joyce Koock and they were together for the next 67 years!
"Boog" was co-owner of Mason Bottling Company and never completely retired. He was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and in earlier years was a member of the Mason Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Fort Mason Golf Association and had a love for all sports, especially football. Boog's true love and what made him happiest was his family.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Koock Holloway of Mason, two daughters Cheryl Holloway Fairchild and husband Leon of Murphy, Texas and Debra Holloway Wenzel and husband Larry of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Mitchell Fairchild and wife Kristine, Taryn Wenzel Deach, Hunter Wenzel and wife Demetra and Reed Fairchild, five great-grandchildren Talyn Ellenberger, Brooklyn Fairchild, Jace Deach, Knox Wenzel and Stone Wenzel, two brothers Carroll Don Holloway and wife Bernice of Fredericksburg and Curtis Holloway of Mineola along with numerous nieces and nephews . "Boog" was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Ruby Kiser and Marilyn Braddock and two brothers Garland Holloway and Edward Holloway.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are
Mitchell Fairchild, Hunter Wenzel, Taryn Deach, Reed Fairchild, John Koock and Keesie Kothmann.
