Bobbie Ruth Bass was born February 13, 1931 in Anna, Texas to Roby and Elkanah Bass. When Bobbie was 3 years old her mother Elkanah passed away, leaving 6 children. A year later Roby married Julia Barton.

Bobbie passed away on Friday, April 6, at the age of 87 at her home in Mason.

She is survived by her children Connie Bass of Belton, John Mahaffey and wife Annette of Boerne, Bobbye Hansen and husband Mickey of Grand Junction, Colorado and Sandra Gosse and husband Brock of Aransas Pass, grandchildren: Bill Bass and wife Michele of Athens, Julia Rogers of Tyler, Rachel Childers and husband Andrew of Boerne, Ryan Padalecki and wife Angela of Grand Junction, Colorado, Lora Andrews and husband John of Loma, Colorado, Dustin Grosse of Corpus Christi, Summer Gilbert and husband Trey of Corpus Christi and Faith Mahaffey of Boerne. She is also survived by the following great-grandchildren: Hesston and William Bass of Athens, Jonathan Wood and Tristan Wood of Boerne, Silas Gallo of Boerne, Aspen and Myles Padalecki of Loveland, Colorado, Avery Grosse of San Antonio, Paisley and Jolene Andrews of Loma, Colorado and Parker and Ellison Rogers of Tyler.

Bobbie was married to Jack Mahaffey in 1951 in Dallas and they had four children and in 1972 they were divorced. Bobbie was living in San Antonio and working at Straus Frank Company and that is where she met Joe Rabke, and they were married June 22, 1974. They moved to Mason in 1981 to Join Brock and Sandy Grosse in the automobile business. They lived in Mason for 20 years, and because of Joe's health they moved back to Boerne to be close to his doctor. Joe went to heaven in 2006, and in 2008 Bobbie moved back to Mason because she had so many friends here. She worked as secretary of the Methodist Church for 15 years and enjoyed her work there. Joe had a lawn service. They loved being here.

Bobbie loved a song "Dancing with Jesus", so she is in Heaven now dancing with Jesus in the sky.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April. 14, at 2:00 p.m. at River of Life Church in Mason.
