Beverly Ruth Marek, of Mason, Texas, was born on September 6, 1941, in College Station, Texas. She was sent to her eternal home on April 29, 2026. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Lee Marek; her parents, Homer and Ruth Jo Martin, of Mason; and her parents-in-law, Henry and Vida Martin.

Beverly was blessed to grow up with her brother, Homer Jr, on their family ranch in Mason, Texas.  It was here that she developed a love for family, agriculture, and education.  After graduating from Mason High School, she attended Texas Christian University, where she earned her teaching degree in Elementary Education.  Fortunately, her job search brought her back home to Mason, where she began a long teaching career.  More importantly, it didn't take long for her to meet the love of her life, Jay Lee Marek, whom she was married to for 63 years.

Beverly was best known as an extraordinary 3rd Grade Teacher.  Her passion for her students and her desire to see them be successful will always be remembered.  The number of students she had the privilege of teaching is hard to count, but she loved each and every one.

Jay and Beverly were lifelong members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she served on numerous committees. St Paul holds special memories for Beverly, as she was baptized, confirmed, and married there.

Aside from her educational role, Beverly is also known for her commitment and dedication to her family.  She is survived by a son, Jason Marek, and wife Felice of Harper, a daughter Julie Tedder, and husband Jay of Mason, 4 grandchildren: Justyn McAndrews, and husband Sean, Jax Tedder, Kelton Marek, and Kolby Marek, a great-granddaughter, Margot Jay McAndrews, and her brother Homer Martin, Jr., and Linda Park of Mason.

After retiring from teaching, Beverly's favorite hobby was spending time at the ranch riding around on the ATV.  She truly loved checking the cows, opening gates, and inspecting the pastures with Jay Lee.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great-granddaughter.  Those who knew Beverly will remember her for her dedication and commitment to her many students, her faith in Jesus, her warm smile, and her happiness being around those she loved.

Visitation for Beverly Marek will be on Friday, May 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason.  Interment will follow at Hedwig's Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marek Scholarship Fund at Mason Bank.
