Betty Jean Shaw Carter, age 68, passed away on April 25 ^th , 2023, at her home in Mason, TX. Betty was born was born on May 17 ^th 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Betty moved to Texas when she was a child and grew up around the Dallas area. Betty moved to her home in Mason, TX in 2022 and thought of her home as an oasis and loved being in the Hill Country.

Betty's memory will be lived on by her daughter Wendi Ellis & son-in-law Stephen, her son Christopher Shaw & wife April; her grandchildren Shelbie Shaw, Kirsten Leatherwood & husband Tate, Heather Shaw, Ryder Ellis, & Finley Ellis; her great-grandchildren Sawyer, Kellan, Kaden, Peyton & Brynn; & her brother RC Williams and wife Ann. Her favorite Aunt Dorothy & her husband Charles, Rose Russell and Vi Schultes. She will also be remembered by her ex-husband Mark Shaw & his wife Sande who were very good friends to her.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother Lucille Cromwell, her father Tom Cromwell, and her brother Don Williams.

Some of Betty's favorite things that will remain in her family's memories were her love of gardening, love of the beach, sewing, her love for her pets Ella , Archie, Lil' Girl & Big Fella, , baking desserts, especially her Banana Pudding , cooking Christmas dinners with family and sitting on her front porch enjoying her Hill Country view of the deer, goats and birds.

The Memorial service will be held at the Mason Funeral Home at 204 Postoak Street Mason, TX 76856 on Saturday April 29 ^th 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
