Betty Jean Brandenberger was born on November 24, 1946, in Fredericksburg, to Arthur Alfred Ersch and Dora Lena Eckert Ersch.  She passed away on Friday, April 17, at the age of 79.  Betty was raised in Gillespie County where she attended the Wrede Country School and graduated from Fredericksburg High School.

On January 21, 1967, Betty married Daymond Brandenberger. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Debra and Denise.  They made their home in Mason where they were active members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Through the years Betty worked as a bus driver, worked at Community Service & Supply and also worked at the Mason Clinic.

Betty loved to visit with people and was always ready for a good game of 42 Dominoes.  She also was a very good cook.  Betty was a member of the "Monday Night 42 Club", The Grit Community Club and was active with the "Friends of Gillespie County Country Schools".

Betty is survived by her daughters, Debra Davenport and husband Roy, of Mason, Denise Brandenberger, of Mason, three grandchildren: Zackery Hoag (Tracey) of Wall, Jessica Allen (Braxton) of Abilene, Nathan Hoag (Ashley) of Mason and seven great-grandchildren: Bella Allen, Brynleigh Allen, Mitchell Hoag, Emma Juarez, Harper Payne, Bennington Allen and Logan Hoag.  She was preceded in death by her husband Daymond Brandenberger, her parents Dora and Arthur Ersch and her sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Charles Klein.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wrede School House, P.O. Box 465, Stonewall, Texas  78671.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Nathan Hoag, Garrett Allen, Logan Toone, John Palacio, Austin Skero and Robert Vasquez.  Honorary pallbearers are Zack Hoag, Robert Zuberbueler, Rollie Lumbkis, Nicky Nobles, Danny Reeves, Anthony Nebgen, the 42 Club and the Grit Community School House.
