Roberto "Bert" Silerio, of West, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, at the age of 42. Bert is survived by his mother Maria Santos Silerio, of Mason, daughter Marissa Michelle Lander of West, and the following brothers and sisters: Martha Rodriguez and husband David of Eagle Pass, Fermin Silerio Jr., of San Angelo, Manuel Silerio and Scott Haupert of Mason, GiGi Duarte and husband "Junior" of Mason, Remedios "Ram" Silerio and wife Robin of Arlington, Freddie Silerio and wife Jayme of Mason, Sandra Taylor and husband John of Houston, and Patrick Perez-Silerio and wife Tiara of Ft. Hood. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.

Bert was born in Mason on January 13, 1968 to Fermin Silerio Sr. and Maria Santos Galaviz Silerio. He was raised in Mason and was a 1986 graduate of Mason High School. After graduation, Bert attended school in Waco and worked in the Waco area as a machinist. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding and calf roping. Bert loved to visit and BBQ with his friends and he especially enjoyed dancing.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Gabriel Ozondu pofficiating. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Fermin Silerio Jr., Manuel Silerio, Remedios Silerio, Freddie Silerio, John Taylor, David Rodriguez, "Junior' Duarte, Patrick Silerio, and Jesus Silerio. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 to7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary to be held at 7:00.
