Barry Zombro Jr., of Mason, and formerly of Pottsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 21, at the age of 37 after a long struggle with cancer. Mr. Zombro is survived by his father Barry Zombro Sr. of Pottsville, PA, his grandfather Harvey Zombro Sr. of Mason, his uncle Harvey Zombro Jr. of San Antonio and a cousin Ryan Zombro. He was preceded in death by his mother JoAnn Zombro and by and uncle Robert Zombro.
Barry was born on November 28, 1972 in Pottsville, PA to Barry Zombro Sr. and Jo Ann Fleischut Zombro. He was a graduate of Pottsville High School. At the age of 17 Barry became a volunteer fireman. He worked as an EMT for Minnersville Ambulance in Minnersville, PA and he was a volunteer fireman, Ladder 51, in Pottsville. He spent most of his life serving and saving members of his community. Even after he became ill, Barry continued to serve his community. Barry had also worked as a cook and as a warehouseman for Lowe's. In his spare time he liked to cook and play video games. He loved the outdoors, shooting firearms, fishing and hunting. He was a true outdoorsman.
Funeral services for Barry Zombro Jr. will be held on Friday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 at Mason Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice in Fredericksburg, TX.
