Obituary

Anna Katherine "Kathy" Bishop was born November 15, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas. She died December 11, 2012 in San Marcos, Texas.
Kathy, her grandmother Anna Laura Schuessler Ritter and her mother Ruby Ritter Bynum Hutschenreuter were descendants of Mason County pioneer families, the Ritter, Storch (Starks), Cating and Schuessler families. Kathy was married January 20, 1943 to Elton Bishop in Llano, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elton Bishop, her children Vivian Elaine Bishop and Larry Elton Bishop, her mother Ruby Ritter Bynum Hutschenreuter, her brother William M. Bynum and her sister Laura Hutschenreuter Byington.
She is survived by her daughter Anna Bishop Hargrove and husband Richard, her granddaughter Alison Bishop Hargrove Farabee and her husband Matthew and by her siblings Desmond Bynum and wife Donna, Shirley Engelke and husband Vernon, Elgin Henry Bynum, Ruby Church, Frances Schoultz and husband Perry and Laverne Lehman and husband Laurence. She is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews born to her siblings and to her husband's and their children and grandchildren and by many cousins and their children and grandchildren. She remembered with a special love her aunts and uncles Elna Ritter Shafer, Wesley M. Ritter, Archie Ritter, Wilburn Ritter, Roscoe Ritter, Clinton Ritter, Lorene Ritter Keith, Ralph Ritter and Melvin Ritter.
She loved many friends in Mason County and had a special love for children and for animals. She gave excellent care to her family and intelligence and industry to her work. She was a member of the Church of Christ and lived by the words of John 13:34, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, at 11:30 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Kirby leading the service. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Camp Air. Visitation with the family will be Friday morning from 10:30 till 11:30 prior to the service.
