Obituary

Alfred Lee Koerner, of Arlington and formerly of Mason, passed away on Sunday, October 11, at the age of 76. Alfred was born in Mason on June 30, 1939 to Eddie Rudolph Koerner and Iva Keith Koerner. He was raised in Mason. On August 3, 1973 Alfred married Sue Goss in Abilene. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children: Rickey, Eddie, Rodney, Tammy and Janna. In 1989 they moved to Arlington where Alfred worked as a truck driver.

In earlier years Alfred enjoyed raising livestock He also liked to tend to their flower beds and he enjoyed watching college football and the Texas Rangers.

Alfred is survived by his wife Sue Koerner, of Arlington, two sons Eddie Koerner of Arlington and Rodney Koerner of Austin, two daughters Tammy Koerner Lucio and husband Luis of Lubbock and Janna Settles and husband Larry of Combine, eight grandchildren: Brandon Lucio, Blake Chegwidden and wife Alisha, Brittany Lucio, Ryan Chegwidden, Heather Koerner, Nikki Koerner, Abigail Settles, Hannah Settles Dunlap and husband Travis and three great-grandchildren: Ryder and Rustin Chegwidden and Roman Lerma. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ricky Koerner, three brothers: William, David and Curtis Koerner and a sister Celeta Lawrence.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in the Cavness Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Luis Lucio, Ryan Chegwidden, Brandon Lucio, Larry Settles, Eddie Koerner, Terry Monk, Jacob Monk and Travis Monk.
