Agnes H. Fail, 97, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Kerrville, Texas, where she had lived in The Haven Nursing Home for the last year. She is survived by her daughter, Carol F. Holmes and husband Doug of Mason, TX; and son, W. Jere Fail and wife Margaret of Orlando, FL. Grandchildren are Lisa Fail, Ross Griffin, and Richard Griffin along with four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and T.A. Hardwick; her husband, W. Guy Fail; and brother, T.A. Hardwick, Jr.
Mrs. Fail was born and raised in Faceville, GA. She moved to Dothan, AL when she was 17 years old, where she resided for 65 years before moving to Texas. In Dothan, she was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as Pastor's Secretary for 38 years. She taught Sunday School there for 50 years. She was formerly president of Dothan's American Business Women's Association and president of Alabama's Pastors Secretaries Association. In the past, Mrs. Fail had won several awards recognizing her service to others and the community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist church, 300 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36303.
A private interment will be held in Dothan, AL at a later date.
